Sustainability
BATON for 1∞
— for the children of tomorrow—
BATON for 100
BATON for 1∞ is our sustainability project, built on the concept of “Handing down 100% of our current abundance to the future.” The logo symbolizes “Entrusting the future to the next generation” through the shape of a relay baton, and the Möbius strip represents our wish for rich resources to endure forever.
Shaping the future of the circular economy
We aim to realize a circular economy by building our own unique recycling system. This reduces the need for new materials and helps establish a circular system with minimal waste. To achieve this, manufacturers, material suppliers, and recycling companies work closely together.
In addition, we are developing systems that make it easier for consumers to participate. Through partnerships with all those involved in our products, we are committed to pursuing truly environmentally responsible manufacturing.
Collaboration with educational institutions
Upcycle
We are committed to a zero-waste philosophy.
Fabric scraps from production are upcycled through collaboration with high school students and donated to nurseries. Furthermore, we facilitate a closed-loop system by inviting customers to return products at the end of their life. By integrating the latest technologies, we strive to realize a truly circular economy.
Industry-Academia Collaboration Initiatives
Contributing to Education Through the Upcycling of Offcuts
We are engaged in an initiative where we reuse waste materials generated during the manufacturing process to create upcycled products, which are then donated to educational institutions and welfare organizations. In the spring of 2023, we collaborated with students from Konko Gakuen High School to create sound-absorbing materials, which were donated and installed in a daycare center. Through this industry-academia collaboration, we aim to contribute to education by providing a learning experience for high school students.
Leveraging Each Other's Strengths
As part of our industry-academia collaboration, we had students from the Faculty of Design at Okayama Prefectural University come up with cover designs for our Sound Absorption CASSETTE WALL & CEILING®. During a hands-on internship, the students were involved in prototyping the product from scratch. We are stimulated from this experience not only inspiration through their flexible and creative ideas but also turned into a valuable initiative for both of us. Building on this industry-academia collaboration, we aim to expand our partnerships toward achieving the SDGs.
